Lionel L. G. Issombo, Advisory Board Member

Lionel Issombo is an advisor and consultant in sustainability and climate risk management with specialised knowledge in banking climate risk stress testing and scenario analysis, sustainability disclosure and reporting, international climate-related financial regulation and policy.

Lionel has a track record of high-level experience working to integrate climate-related & environmental (and ESG) risk management in business practices in UK, U.S., EU, and Canadian jurisdictions:

Worked in international financial trade associations, representing the largest banks (Association for Financial Markets in Europe – AFME);

Worked for climate-financial risk data providers (e.g. Climate X, 15 Rock);

Engaged directly with leading European and global banks (e.g. HSBC, Barclays, BNPP, J.P. Morgan), financial supervisors (e.g. ECB) and regulators (e.g. EBA, HKMA), climate scenario modellers (e.g. NGFS), other financial trade associations (e.g. ISDA, ICMA);

Collaborated with global leading consulting firms (e.g. Oliver Wyman, EY) on various projects.                   He authored over 30 high-level publications (some under companies’ brand) on sustainability and climate risk topics in banking and real estate, developing industry-wide research papers, position papers, consultation responses, white papers and articles.
